Many people have misconceptions about underwater ground lights and bottom lights, even thinking they are the same, which is not the case! Today, the editor from Lumider Lighting will explain the differences.

The most common types of underwater lights for swimming pools we see are underwater bottom lights, underwater ground lights, underwater wall lights, and underwater light strips.

So, how should we choose?

1. Underwater Bottom Light

LED underwater bottom lights are installed at the bottom of the water, requiring them to withstand a certain pressure. It’s best to choose lights made from 304 stainless steel for their high waterproof rating of IP68. They come with a three-dimensional bracket that is easy to install and adjustable in angle.

2. Underwater Ground Light

Underwater ground lights have a similar appearance to underwater bottom lights but differ in installation methods. Underwater ground lights are installed by creating an opening and embedding them. They also use 304 stainless steel, high-quality cables, and silicone rubber sealing rings, offering strong heat dissipation, achieving IP68 waterproof, dustproof, leakage proof, and corrosion-resistant objectives.

Underwater lights are generally LED sources, known for their energy efficiency. They are more environmentally friendly and have a longer lifespan than traditional underwater lights.

LED underwater lights are available in single color and DMX512 multicolor, offering great aesthetic appeal. They are often installed in parks or fountain pools.

Although there are many similarities among the lights, each type has its distinct uses and names. It's essential to choose the most suitable according to the application's specific needs.
