The Difference between LED Wall Washer Lights and LED Rigid Strip Lights

LED wall washer lights and LED rigid light bars are both classified as linear lights in the lighting industry. However, to those who are not familiar with this field, they might seem identical. So, what are the differences between LED wall washer lights and LED rigid strip lights?

LED wall washer lights are generally used for outdoor landscape lighting, while LED rigid strips are typically used for indoor lighting! Each has its strengths and sports many differences, including in terms of purpose, performance, materials, appearance, structure, and more.

Difference 1. Purpose:

LED wall washer lights emit a higher, wider beam of light compared to rigid light bars. LED rigid light bars are suitable for jewelry counter lighting but not for exterior walls. If used on exterior walls, they should be suitable for illuminating heights of less than 1 meter. For a higher range, wall lights should be used.

Difference 2. Appearance and Structure:

LED wall washer lights use high-power LEDs and require waterproof ratings of IP65 or above. LED rigid light bars use low-power light sources, mainly consisting of SMD 5050 beads. Generally, they are not waterproof and are mainly used in dark tanks, available in multiple colors.

Difference 3. Projection Distance:

LED wall washer lights are commonly used for outdoor landscape illumination, with projection distances ranging from 2 to 50 meters. Rigid light bars are mostly used indoors.

The main applications of LED wall washer lights include: green landscape lighting, lighting for billboards, and other special facilities; as well as atmospheric lighting for bars, dance halls, and other entertainment venues.

LED rigid light bars are generally used for indoor decoration, such as for decorating concealed grooves, around ceilings, jewelry counter lights, etc. They can be applied on exterior walls but only for illuminating heights within 1 meter.
