Three Wiring Methods for LED Wall Wash Lights

05-12 10:08

Conventional LED wall wash light products fill all original beads with glue to achieve waterproofing, but this approach has many drawbacks. The adhesive covering the beads alters the color temperature of the beads.

The conventional linear wall wash light, glued over all the lights, has originality and waterproof functions, but it also has many flaws. The adhesive covering the beads leads to color temperature change, potentially making it high and altering the purity of the color before adherence. Moreover, using low-quality glue can result in dead lights or light failure due to reactions with the light, glue, and beads. Even high-quality glue only delays the light bead degradation.

However, the linear wall wash lights with lenses do not have these drawbacks. Placing a lens over a bead essentially acts as a protective cover. The glue does not contact the beads, so their color temperature remains unchanged, and the beads have a longer lifespan. These can also come with glass brackets, enhancing the function of high-power LED wall wash lights, giving them a more high-end appearance. Many LED linear lights with lenses have already been launched by the lighting industry, available in 30, 60, 90, and 120 degrees, offering various illumination perspectives and exposure distances. Clients can choose lenses with different perspectives according to project requirements, with free lighting fixture manufacturing and installation technical support, offering one-stop service promises, after-sales maintenance, and warranties.

Many outdoor products require waterproofing, such as linear wall wash lights, LED wall wash lights, LED guardrail tubes, LED point sources LED floodlights LED outdoor lights, car lights, waterproof watches, aquaculture products, underwater cameras, and more, along with special industries.

Once electrical products fall into water, they may encounter many issues, such as short circuits, leaks, rust, deterioration, damage to the medium, and signal interference. Therefore, waterproofing usually refers to preventing external water or water vapor from infiltrating and penetrating the interior of electrical devices.

Generally, the beads selected by linear wall wash lights have an individual voltage of about 1.8-3V, and the current is usually controlled between 18mA-20mA. The voltage of each LED light varies depending on color, temperature, and chip count, requiring testing by specialized engineers or technicians. LED wall wash light prices are relatively reasonable.

When customers purchase linear lights, besides some fixed wiring positions, manufacturers must also consult with customers on the choice of wiring methods. So, why are wiring methods so important for linear lights? The answer is straightforward: the linear wall wash light's emission method will directly affect the product's illumination effect, aesthetic quality, and installation difficulty. Today, I will introduce to you three fundamental methods of strip lighting:

(a) Sideline wiring: Choose a side of the linear wall wash light to drill a hole corresponding to the wire diameter, with waterproof connections linked to the circuit board through this hole. Its advantage is seamless integration, uniform lighting without dark zones, and easy installation.

(b) Bottom wiring: Bottom wiring starts from the bottom of the aluminum profile, drilling a hole of the wire diameter at both ends of the line, at the bottom position of the light, similar in principle to sideline. Besides allowing seamless integration, bottom wiring also neatly conceals wires at the bottom, making it more aesthetically pleasing!

(c) Plug wiring: Plug wiring involves drilling a hole for the wire in the middle of the tabs at both ends of the lamp head, making installation very convenient. Plug wiring cannot achieve seamless connection and is slightly less aesthetically pleasing compared to bottom wiring.
